Updated Nov. 30 with confirmed details for U.S. and U.K. pricing and further addition of other Apple products. Black Friday is here. Which means the Apple Black Friday and Cyber Monday shopping event has now gone live down under and have now rolled out in the U.K. and U.S. Here are all the details, for all products, including the Mac, which attracts the highest-value gift cards. One of the benefits of Apple’s system is that the shopping event continues to the end unlike price offers that suddenly sell out. Apple Shopping Event: The Dates And Deals The event runs from the moment midnight strikes on Friday, Nov. 29 through to the following Monday, Dec. 2 inclusive in your time zone. Instead of knocking money off its products, Apple’s technique is to provide a gift card that can be spent anywhere instore or online with Apple. So, if you’re planning to buy other stuff from Apple, it works out just as good as a discount. Apple Shopping Event: MacBook Air Offers Before we get to the iPhone and iPad, there are also gift cards available for those after a new Mac. Note that the latest releases, that is the iMac, MacBook Pro and Mac mini are not included in the shopping event, which leaves just the MacBook Air. Here’s what’s on offer. The most affordable model in the shopping event is the MacBook Air 13-inch with M2 chip. It sells for $999 and up. You’ll score a $150 gift card if you buy this laptop, or a £120 gift card in the U.K. or A$240 gift card in Australia. Move up to the most recent MacBook Airs and there are bigger-value gift cards on offer. Get a $175 gift card, or £140 card or A$280 gift card if you buy the MacBook Air 13-inch with M3 processor, which costs $1,099 or more. There’s also the MacBook Air 15-inch model. If you buy this, which costs from $1,299, you’ll snag a $200 gift card, or a £160 gift card in the U.K. and A$320 down under. Other products attracting gift cards include the HomePod (not the HomePod mini) which sells for $299. Grab a gift card worth $50, £40 or A$80 in Australia. Apple TV 4K costs from $129 and comes with a $25 gift card, or £20 in the U.K., which means an A$80 card in Australia. You can also claim a gift card worth $25, £20 or A$40 in Australia with either the Apple Pencil Pro or Apple Pencil 2nd generation, both of which cost $129. Apple Shopping Event: iPhone Offers Buy an iPhone 15, iPhone 14 or iPhone SE, means it will come with a gift card. In Australia, Apple says that you can snag a gift card of A$120 with an iPhone 15, while an iPhone 14 comes with a gift card worth A$80. The most affordable iPhone, the latest iPhone SE, comes with a A$40 gift card. In the U.S., this means you’re eligible for a gift card worth $75 if you buy an iPhone 15, which costs $699 for the model with 128GB storage, $50 gift card with iPhone 14 ($599 and up) and $25 with an iPhone SE, which costs $429. In the U.K., it’s now confirmed that a £60 gift card is on offer with iPhone 15, £40 gift card with iPhone 14 and £20 card with the iPhone SE. Apple Shopping Event: iPad Offers A bigger Apple gift card is available when you buy an iPad, specifically, an iPad Pro, iPad Air, or iPad (10th generation). In Australia, the iPad 10 th generation attracts a A$80 gift card, iPad Air A$120 and iPad Pro A$160. In the U.S. that means a $50 gift card with iPad 10 th generation, $75 with iPad Air and $100 gift card with iPad Pro. Across the pond in the U.K., you can snag a £40 gift card with the iPad 10 th generation, £60 card with iPad Air and £80 gift card with iPad Pro. Other Apple Products As for other Apple products which now attract gift cards, the Apple Watch SE which costs from $249 in the U.S. comes with a $50 gift card—in the U.K. the £219 price for the smaller-sized SE gets a £40 gift card with it. AirPods Max cost $549 but you can score a $75 gift card with a purchase, and in the U.K. the £499 Max come with a £60 gift card. AirPods Pro 2 cost $249 (£239 in the U.K.) and come with a $50 or £40 gift card, respectively. And the new AirPods 4 get a $25 or £20 gift card. Pricing starts from $129 and £129.

Rep. Chris Smith, R-N.J., opens up about the aerial systems spotted in the Garden State on 'The Story.' A U.S. Coast Guard official said one of its vessels was trailed by dozens of drones off the coast of New Jersey recently, according to Rep. Chris Smith, R-N.J. Smith, a guest on "The Story with Martha MacCallum" Tuesday, said he spent Monday night on the beach in Ocean County and spoke to several people, including a U.S. Coast Guard commanding officer stationed in Barnegat Light. Smith learned from the Coast Guard commander that the night before, "one of their 47-foot vessels, boats, was trailed very closely by more than a dozen of these drones ." "Now, that to me, is very, very, not just suspicious, provocative, and this could be a foreign power, whether it be [Vladimir] Putin, or it could be Xi Jinping in China, or the Middle East, we can’t rule any of that out," the congressman said. NEW JERSEY DRONES: NORTHCOM NOT YET ASKED BY LOCAL OFFICIALS FOR HELP Photos taken in the Bay Shore section of Toms River of what appear to be large drones hovering in the area at high altitudes in New Jersey on Sunday, Dec. 8, 2024. The drones seemed to be well above the 400-feet height FAA regulations allow. (Doug Hood/Asbury Park Press) A spokesperson for the U.S. Coast Guard confirmed with Fox News Digital that "multiple low-altitude aircraft were observed in [the] vicinity" of one of the military branch’s vessels near Island Beach State Park, New Jersey. "While no immediate threats or disruptions to operations were identified, the Coast Guard is assisting the FBI and state agencies to understand the type, origin, and intent of these aircraft and address potential risks to safety and security," the spokesperson said. "We take any and all aircraft activity near federal assets seriously and urge the public to report any suspicious activity to local authorities." Reports of large drones flying over different parts of the Garden State, including President-elect Trump’s Bedminster golf course and near military research sites, have been on the rise in recent weeks. Rep. Jeff Van Drew, R-N.J., said Wednesday that "very qualified" and "reliable" sources believe the mystery drones flying over New Jersey are originating from an Iranian "mother ship" parked off the U.S. East Coast. FBI LEADER SAYS IT'S ‘CONCERNING’ HOW LITTLE HIS AGENCY KNOWS ABOUT MYSTERIOUS DRONES SEEN OVER NEW JERSEY Rep. Jeff Van Drew speaks to the press as he meets with President Trump in the Oval Office of the White House on Dec. 19, 2019. (Drew Angerer/Getty Images) "Here is the real deal," Van Drew told Fox News’ Harris Faulkner. "I'm on the Transportation Committee, on the Aviation Subcommittee, and I've gotten to know people. And from very high sources, very qualified sources, very responsible sources. I'm going to tell you... Iran launched a mother ship probably about a month ago that contains these drones. That mothership is off the East Coast of the United States of America." Van Drew did not provide the names of the sources who provided the information, citing confidentiality. The lawmaker later said Iran made a deal with China to purchase drones, mother ships and technology. NEW JERSEY DRONE SIGHTINGS: MILITARY ANALYSTS BREAK DOWN NATIONAL SECURITY CONCERNS, DOUBT HOBBYISTS AT PLAY New Jersey drone sighting map (Fox & Friends/Screengrab) "... These drones should be shot down," Van Drew said. "Whether it was some crazy hobbyist that we can't imagine, or whether it is Iran – and I think it very possibly could be – they should be shot down. We are not getting the full deal, and the military is on alert with this." Deputy Pentagon press secretary Sabrina Singh told Fox News’ Jennifer Griffin during a press briefing on Wednesday that there is no evidence that the mysterious drones spotted over New Jersey residential neighborhoods and military bases come from a foreign adversary. Singh also said the drones pose no threat to U.S. military installations. CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APP When asked about Van Drew’s comments, Singh said there is "not any truth" to his claims. A footnote to the excellent article by Timothy Garton Ash ( What if Russia wins in Ukraine? We can already see the shadows of a dark 2025, 21 December ). The so-called rare earths are essential raw materials for advanced electronics industries. China – with the world’s largest economically exploitable reserves – has a major strategic advantage in access to rare earths, underlined by the tight export controls that it has recently imposed. In Europe, it is eastern Ukraine that has the best reserves. To gain and maintain control of Ukraine’s reserves would be a major boost for Russia. A defeat here for Ukraine , enabled by the failure of the west to provide the long-term support that it has promised, would signal to China that it should not be too concerned about western resolve in the event of a Chinese invasion of Taiwan. Taiwan is a dominant supplier of the advanced electronics, incorporating rare earths, that will continue to be a major determinant of economic success. Ukraine and Taiwan – raw materials, advanced products – are the complementary aspects of a single choice facing the west: whether to surrender leadership of a technology that will help determine economic success, and military strength, well into the 21st century. In this there is no role for shortsighted transactionalism. What is needed is to face up to inhuman autocratic authoritarianism, Chinese as well as Russian, with clear-headed strategic direction and resolve. John E Havard Twickenham, London Timothy Garton Ash’s prophecy of Armageddon if Russia “wins” the war in Ukraine is based on the premise that the US, the UK and Nato in general constitute an altruistic, benign force, wishing nothing but to make the world a better place. It is as if the Vietnam war never happened, Iraq was never invaded and there was no military intervention in Libya. It is a fetching view of geopolitics, but alas with no foundation. If, in 1962, John F Kennedy could find the presence of Soviet missiles in Cuba a security threat, why not Russia in 2024 perceiving the expansion of Nato towards its borders as a threat to its national security? It is pure fantasy to think that Russia, a state that’s unable to subdue a country a thirtieth of its size, a third of its population and less than a hundredth of its GDP has the capacity to conquer neighbouring countries. If China , regarded a security danger only a few months ago, can today be courted into to enter into a trade partnership with the UK, then why not Russia now that the war in Ukraine is coming to a natural end?
