My personal view is that people who are most successful are self-driven and motivated and do not rely on or ask for assistance. The advertisement highlighted that the ministry is seeking candidates who could drive municipal operations toward modernisation, address community needs and promote sustainable practices. He makes a lot of plays, so when they came down to me and told me that they wanted to see Ronnie play a little bit more, I mean, I understand. I feel like any DB would be frustrated, but I think those opportunities will start coming soon.” As far as fingers pointing at him outside the building whenever there’s a blown coverage or a big play, he’s not fazed by it. “If you’re watching it on TV and you see me chasing the ball down and no one next to the ball carrier, you automatically assume it’s on me,” he said. “But I mean, that’s part of the game. I’m a free safety. I’m the last line of defense, so if something bad goes wrong, I’m there to make it up. If I don’t make the tackle, it’s similar to the quarterback. A lot of people are going to point fingers at you, but it’s fine. Foreign Office minister Hamish Falconer was repeatedly urged by MPs to give a definitive answer on the UK’s likely action after the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued a warrant for the Israeli prime minister and his former defence minister Yoav Gallant over alleged war crimes in Gaza. Mr Falconer said there is a domestic legal process to be followed through the courts that “determines whether or not to endorse an arrest warrant” by the ICC, adding this has “never been tested” as the UK has yet to be visited by an ICC indictee. In reply to Labour MP Sarah Owen (Luton North), Mr Falconer told the Commons: “I’d like to just be clear that what I have said this afternoon is not that the Government will uphold arrest warrants. “What I have been clear about this afternoon is that due process will be followed. These are questions for independent courts in the UK, and it is independent courts that would review the arrest warrants if that situation were to arise.” Responding to an urgent question on the ICC’s decision, Mr Falconer earlier said: “In line with this Government’s stated commitment to the rule of law, we respect the independence of the ICC. On November 4, 2024, Hindenburg Research published a report based on a 5-month investigation that included interviews with 18 former PACS Group employees, competitors, and an analysis of more than 900 PACS facility cost reports. The report alleged the Company had “abused a COVID-era waiver” in a “scheme” that involved falsely submitting false Medicare claims which “drove more than 100% of PACS’ operating and net income from 2020 – 2023, enabling PACS to IPO in early 2024 with the illusion of legitimate growth and profitability.” The report further alleged the Company engaged in a scheme to maintain revenue by “bill[ing] thousands of unnecessary respiratory and sensory integration therapies to Medicare Part B regardless of clinical need or outcomes.” The report also alleged a widespread practice of falsifying documentation, including by engaging in a “scheme whereby PACS attempts to fool regulators by ‘renting’ licenses from third parties to ‘hang’ on buildings” and then “either employs unlicensed administrators or has administrators manage multiple buildings in excess of state mandated limits.” Similarly, the report alleges the Company engaged in a scheme related to licensure and staffing of nurses, whereby “PACS secretly lists uncertified nurse aides (NAs) as certified in the system, in an apparent scheme to cheat staffing ratios” and “retroactively add fake RN hours” in order “to meet minimum staffing requirements, boost star ratings, and avoid costly penalties.” On this news, the Company’s share price fell $11.93 or 27.78%, to close at $31.01 per share on November 4, 2024, on unusually heavy trading volume. Then, on November 6, 2024, before the market opened, the Company announced that it would postpone its fiscal third quarter 2024 earnings release. The Company further disclosed it had “received civil investigative demands from the federal government regarding the Company’s reimbursement and referral practices that may or may not be related to this week’s third-party report.” On this news, the Company’s share price fell $11.45 or 38.76%, to close at $18.09 per share on November 6, 2024, on unusually heavy trading volume. India has the potential to be a key producer of sustainable aviation fuel by utilising its ethanol supplies and availability of lipids feedstocks like non-edible industrial oils, according to a senior official at the global airlines' grouping International Air Transport Association or IATA. With decarbonisation in focus, efforts are being made to reduce emissions and over the years, Indian carriers have operated some flights with a blend of sustainable aviation fuel and traditional aviation turbine fuel. Hemant Mistry, Director of Net Zero Transition at the International Air Transport Association, said the ecosystem for SAF has developed but there is more work to be done. "There are some very good opportunities for India right now. One is in terms of SAF feedstocks like agricultural waste...There is a growing understanding on what to do for SAF production. We are talking to a number of companies to understand how we can collaborate...Oil companies," Mistry told PTI in a recent interview in Geneva. The International Air Transport Association represents around 340 airlines, including Indian carriers, that account for more than 80% of the global air traffic. "India, the third largest ethanol producer and consumer today, has the potential to emerge as a key SAF producer utilising its existing and advanced ethanol supplies. At IATA, we see sustainable, low-carbon-intensity ethanol as a promising feedstock to propel India's aviation sector growth," Mistry said. This year, global SAF production is estimated at 1 million tonnes (1.3 billion litres), lower than the earlier projection of 1.5 million tonnes (1.9 billion litres) but higher than the volume of 0.5 million tonnes (600 million litres) recorded in 2023, according to IATA. As the aviation sector pursues ambitious efforts for decarbonisation, IATA has said SAF production growth is disappointingly slow. While noting that India is poised to emerge as the world's third largest aviation market, Mistry said there is also the opportunity for the country to emerge as a SAF hub in the region. "The position can be further strengthened by the early adoption of innovative global accounting practices where India's SAF supplies can cater to the global aviation market, a true mark of act local, think global," he noted. India is one of the world' fastest growing civil aviation markets and airlines are expanding their fleets as well as networks to cater to the rising traffic demand. On mandating use of SAF, Mistry pointed out that the mandate is a work for scale but that can only come later. "You can't have a mandate without technology maturity. That is a big risk." In 2025, IATA expects SAF production to touch 2.1 million tonnes (2.7 billion litres). India has the availability of lipids feedstocks like non-edible industrial oils, animal fats and tallows where the supply chains are not well developed with limited supply for biodiesel production, Mistry said. The country's surplus annual biomass availability is estimated to be more than 200 Mt. With multiple options available for road fleets, lipids-based feedstock must be used for India's SAF value chains. These oily feedstocks can be utilised at existing refineries by ASTM-qualified HEFA co-processing pathways, Mistry said. Consultancy Deloitte, in a report in October this year, said India has the potential to produce 8-10 million tonnes of sustainable aviation fuel by 2040, and investments worth $70-85 billion will be required to achieve the projected production. On the priorities under the SAF umbrella, Mistry said it is a question about more support to get the technologies to maturity and enable some sort of market development. "We should not have feedstock criteria that are regionally divergent. We should have sustainability criteria that are universally acknowledged," he added. There are 11 certified pathways to make SAF and HEFA method (Hydrotreated Esters Fatty Acids) is projected to account for around 80% of the production in the next five years. HEFA method utilises used cooking oil and animal fats, among others. As per the airlines' grouping, SAF volumes could be boosted by increasing investments to scale up production through the other certified pathways, in particular alcohol-to-jet and fischer-tropsch, which use biological and agricultural wastes and residue. The market operator has not ruled out further delays on the 2026 start date for its CHESS program , as costs blow out further. ASX Ltd said on Tuesday that it expects its CHESS Release 2 implementation to start in 2029 and estimates that it will cost between $270m and $320m. ASX “continues to work towards” a 2026 delivery of Release 1, with estimated project costs now expected to be at the “upper end of the previously communicated range of between $105m to $125m.” It means the cost for Release 1 has blown out by up to $10m versus the midpoint of the expected range. ASX shares fell 4 per cent to a three-day low of $66.42 on the news. In a conference call for investors and analysts, ASX chief executive Helen Lofthouse said the revision in the cost guidance to the upper end of the previously communicated range was linked to Cloud and Data platforms. Capex guidance for fiscal 2025 to 2027 is for a range of $160m to $180m per year, with “an aim that CAPEX starts to reduce after FY27”. “As our CAPEX is primarily to support the technology modernisation program, which includes the replacement of CHESS, inherent delivery risks in the program – including timing, scope and stakeholder dependencies – may impact this guidance,” ASX warned. It plans to use the full $70m of the CHESS Replacement Partnership Program, subject to other considerations, with the remaining $37m to be recognised in FY26 and FY28 as significant items. ASX said it also continues to consult and work with the industry to consider whether to adopt a shorter T+1 settlement cycle. “If there is to be a move to a shorter settlement cycle, ASX has received initial industry feedback that it should follow the implementation of the CHESS project,” the exchange operator said. It comes amid rising angst about the repeated delays and cost increases that ASX has faced while attempting to replace its ageing CHESS technology system. ASX has said it will vehemently defend a landmark legal action brought against it by the corporate regulator, denying it contravened the law or made misleading or deceptive statements relating to the bungled CHESS upgrade. In a statement earlier this month, the exchange operator noted it had filed a concise statement in response to the Australian Securities and Investments Commission’s Federal Court case against it. The ASX said it denied that statements made by the company on February 10, 2022, about the status of the CHESS technology upgrade, broke the law. ASIC kicked off the legal case against the ASX in August, alleging a “collective failure” by the company’s board and executives to keep investors, the public and stakeholders properly informed on the CHESS replacement project. ASIC claims statements made by the exchange operator in February 2022 were “misleading and deceptive” around how its CHESS technology upgrade project was tracking.
